Traverse City Tournament Ends Tonight

The Traverse City Tournament, an annual prospects tournament held by the Detroit Red Wings, is on its final day. The Columbus Blue Jackets find themselves in second place in the Ted Lindsay Division and will be facing the Dallas Stars prospects tonight at 7:00 pm.

The Blue Jackets found their way into second place in the Ted Lindsay Division by winning two games and losing once. The only loss of the tournament came on the first day when facing the prospects of the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabres defeated the Blue Jackets by a score of three to two in a hard fought game in which Columbus was down by two goals just minutes into the first period. In the second game, the Blue Jackets took on the Carolina Hurricanes prospects and won by a score of seven to five. The Third game saw the Blue Jackets taking on the New York Rangers prospects, and winning by a score of four to two.

The Dallas Stars prospects come into tonight’s game with the same record as the Blue Jackets. The Stars beat both the St.Louis Blues and the prospects of the Minnesota Wild, but lost to the hosts, the Detroit Red Wings. Speaking of the hosts, the Red Wings will take on the former champs, the Buffalo Sabres, in tonight’s championship game at 7:30 pm.
