August 27th – Team USA has unveiled their new jerseys that will be worn in the 2014 Winter Olympics that are being held in Sochi, Russia. As part of a “Public Day“, USA Hockey showcased their new uniforms this morning, and fans could also watch and participate in other spectacles during the “Public Day”. As I am sure you were aware, at 11:30 this morning, USAHockey.com had a live streaming of the event, which was hosted by Kathryn Tappen of the NHL Network.
Chris Drury and Bill Guerin helped unveil the new Nike Jerseys. Click here for a look at the new Team USA uniforms created by Nike. My initial thoughts were that it was quite underwhelming, and then the more I looked at it, the more I liked it. Great job Nike, you did USA proud.
Yesterday, Monday the 26th of August, it was the hosts, Team Russia, who went public with their new uniforms for the 2014 Winter Olympics. Alex Ovechkin was the model for the new uniform, which shouldn’t be a shock to anyone, and like Team USA, Nike was the maker of the Uniform for Team Russia. Ovechkin is sporting the classic red Russian jerseys that we have all grown accustomed to, and in my opinion are one of the better International jerseys. Check out more pictures from the event here.
