I finally found the actual problem with the owners – players contract negotiations. The problem is called Hofstadter’s Law. As usual, I try not to leave you hanging out there.
Hofstadter’s Law: It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter’s Law.
What is this you say?
Here is an illustration of Hofstadter’s Law: from
An Adventurous Assortment of Arbitrary Amusements
The subtlety is of course that the graph is self referential. That is, Hofstadter’s Law as in the title of the graph refers to the last bar, “Actual Time.” At first you might expect that Hofstadter’s Law is present only in the fourth bar, but it is really the fifth bar that is Hofstadter’s Law. In fact, the “Actual Time” would be the “Worst Case Estimate, Taking Into Account Hofstadter’s Law” Taking Into Account Hofstadter’s Law. This leads to an infinite regress, as now the “Actual Time” is the new “Worst Case Estimate, Taking Into Account Hofstadter’s Law.” This is silly but precisely the point.
And yes, some hockey
Springfield.
Cam Atkinson was pretty much held out of the Springfield pre-games so others could be evaluated.
The Falcons are using the slogan “Hatched and Hungry” for the 2012-2013 campaign.
JAM and Ryan Johansen seem to be playing well together. Remember Ryan is moving back to his “Natural ” position of center.
OHL
Gianluca Curcurto, one of Columbus’ new D men signings in the OHL, playing with his new team, the Plymouth Whalers, has played 5 games and has 1 goal [ on a PP] and 4 assists with a +2 rating.
And finally my 2 cents worth on the infamous negotiations. I have been in labor negotiations. Most of you recall Contract negotiations with the auto workers and one of the “big 3″ Negotiations do not mean a 9:00 – 5:00 meeting, if serious, they go and go until perhaps they adjourn as people are dropping like flies, but the reconvene ASAP. They are intense and intent on getting the contract done. None of this half hearted BS. If you are serious, act like it!!!!!!!!!
