The bits and pieces post created by Gary2

There was a great post on the Hockey News entitled, Overbearing parents ruin minor hockey for kids. You can read the whole article either at the preceding link or in the Hub section of this blog. My take on the article that makes me feel it’s a great posting, is that what kids learn as they enter into life’s setbacks etc, and how they learn it shapes their entire life. Parents are responsible for what their children learn, so they need to be sure they are teaching the proper lessons, even if it does not give the child a smooth path all the time. { It also reminds me of the issue of giving a children rewards for competing, even if they finish last, they receive an award. Note that the Olympics do not give a pink ribbon to the last place finisher. Life does not always reward a lack of success and protecting them from this reality is not necessarily doing them a favor. }

If you haven’t figgered it out yet, there is apparently no progress in the contract negotiations and today the sides start battening down the hatches for the impending lockout.
