Anybody been following the Worlds? With the playoffs and baseball and the Royal Wedding…(I’m kidding.)
The Hockey Worlds to me seem like “The Olympics Revisited” and that alone is good stuff. I’d be lying if I said I’ve watched several games. Truth is, I’ve only watched two and that’s because I happened to be alone in the house and had Almighty God power of the television and one of the NHL channels we have was featuring it at that moment. In my house, when the Jackets are done with the season, everyone is done…Fan Appreciation night at Nationwide Arena officially ushered in Cincinnati Reds season.
Too bad I took the Worlds for granted. This is good stuff. And I’ve missed too much of it, looking in vain for something to soothe my Puck-hungry soul. And it was right there all along, and like the playoffs…it’ll be gone way too soon.
The Jackets are well-represented at the Worlds. Any NHL team is pretty much a cornucopia of international talent and personality. Too me, it seems like a wonderful, big family reunion…with some of the best hockey going. Team Canada seems like a talent Armageddon. These games also seem like a crazy, amazing blast for fans.
What a wonderful world(s).
